Dear AUB alumni:
It’s hard to believe that three years have passed since the founding and launch of WAAAUB in 2007. 2010 will witness our third elections process, to be conducted – like its predecessors – on a worldwide basis in a seamless and effective manner. The objective is to ensure that WAAAUB leadership continues to represent and act on behalf of all AUB alumni.
This annual process is not an easy feat; it happens after extensive work and preparation by dedicated WAAAUB members. And, naturally, it can only succeed with your input and participation. After all, WAAAUB is about you – your needs and expectations – it’s your organization!
As you may be aware, continuity is a critical element of any organization. WAAAUB was set up so the terms of members of the Board and Council do not expire simultaneously; hence the annual elections. This year, we are asking you to nominate and elect: two new members to the Alumni Trustee, 8 new members to the WAAAUB Board of Directors and 35 new members to the Alumni Council to fill the positions of members whose two-year terms expire on September 30, 2010.
Note that beginning this year, elections will be conducted only electronically (no paper ballots) so make sure that your email is on record at WAAAUB.
